Good SPAM, Bad Spam

So... I'm back. Yay! Seems I passed the test and I am not a Spammer after all. Because seriously? I barely even know what that means. Three days ago I was shut down as soon as I had begun this little interweb journal thingy bob. Not good for a neurotic gal who leans toward serious paranoia, folks. For a day I kept wondering what I did wrong, was it something I SAID? But I was emailed a little form assuring me that for whatever reason the blog was flagged as a possible spammer, if I completed the form and emailed it back all would be well in two business days.

As you can see, all is well. I am back in business and am celebrating by posting this little SPAM movie, the happy kind of SPAM. The kind of SPAM that makes you want to sing. I read on YouTube the woman, Izzy Taylor, who made the movie for her class project only got a C for her efforts. I seriously disagree, because everytime I watch it I smile and catch myself singing the song for hours. I know nothing of the technical aspects, but I give her an A for making me happy.

The Hero of our Story

Here's how it all went down. The hero (hubby) has been looking for a new position with a good company since November '07. He is in the IT Management field. Exactly what it is that he does, well honestly I just don't get it. He gets it very well though, and has made a nice career for himself doing it. After many interviews around here in our town, and traveling to cities throughout the U.S., he finally found the right fit with a large company in the Chicago area. They gave him two weeks to be there ready to work. He left two weeks ago.

He found himself a nice little one bedroom apartment and furnished it with some rental furniture he purchased from the rental place that had come off rental with some dings and dents.

The furnishings are only temporary, eventually I'll be there and we will buy a house or a condo and I'll bring with me our nicer things and he can give all his cool bachelor pad stuff away to some deserving college kid or someone in need.

That is the short story of our hero. He makes it home (here with me, um... because that is where his heart is) on the weekends. We are both hoping for a short separation.

Hello, My Name is Melanie.

Hi there, I'm new. Have had some experience in my life being the new kid, am getting ready to be the new kid once again after I move to another town a few hundred miles away. Anyway, here, I'll write my name for you. MELANIE. That wasn't so bad for me. Felt great!

To be clear, this is not the blog of a writer. I mean I write, obviously, but writing in the sense that I may have something poignant to say... well in the event that happens let's just consider that a happy little accident, shall we? There is no way that would happen on purpose! I'm the kind of girl who likes to put my bare feet up on the coffee table and wear a ball cap around on bad hair days. I've been known to throw around the occasional bad word or ... ten. I'm just casual, and I don't always think things through. I majored in English but that was years ago, people. Please don't holler at me for not remembering all the rules!

I'm starting this blog to document the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Looking forward to getting started.
